The Little Black Slip Dress

This little black dress I created when I finally started to get back to sewing for myself. I did not know what to make but I knew I had to use the sparkle fabric I found in one of the fabric shops on Queen Street in Toronto. It was the most expensive fabric I spent my money on, I cannot remember exactly how much it was but I recall it was over $100/meter. I later used the rest of this sparkle fabric for the 401 clothing fashionweekTO show I did for one of the dancer costumes, you can read about the show here and here.

These beautiful lively shots were taken by a great photographer and my good friend Mark @visualize_soul_photo

We found ourselves in the Hamilton region visiting multiple lovely wineries! Hopefully I will have some more photos soon to share with you from this trip. I am missing the summer days already but these shots allow me to relive the beauty and summer happiness. This particular winery is called Honsberger Estate Winery. It was small and quaint but had a great restaurant, live music and even a couple of my favorite animals; Alpacas. I can see it as a lovely wedding venue.

Slip dresses are always fun for me but I never felt like buying one from the store as they were always simple and I felt that I could make it myself. So, I settled for this design and decided the low back with the sparkle will make the simple slip dress more original.

Let me know what you guys think of this dress!
