The reason Hell was empty was not because Shakespeare said so but because this fabric was literally the devil in my life at that moment. Naturally, before I found out this fabric was the devil I really did design this dress with devil’s horns in mind as inspiration. Why? I have no idea except for the fact that simply this fabric made me think of it when I first saw it. So it all turned out very fitting.

I found this fabric at Fabricland on sale for $5, that should have been my first clue that this fabric was going to be the devil because let’s face it.. Nothing costs $5 at Fabricland these days (no offence Fabricland, you will always have a special place in my heart).
Basically as soon as I cut into it I realized this fabric was the type to snag, fall apart, pull, fray, and quite evidently by the photos not iron well at all. Nonetheless, I was determined to bring this dress to life. I had a few hours the day before the shoot to do it. And I did. Not my best work, but some of my favourite photos. Let me set the scene for you…

I was due to meet my friend Mark of @visualize_soul_photo for a day long shoot back at the end of summer. The night before, I “Cinderella’d” through this dress and barely ate/slept. The next morning I set my course to Hamilton, Ontario, about a 2 hour drive for me. Half way through my drive it hit me, I left all my dresses for the shoot at home. And this, is why we should rest folks! Feeling like a total idiot I had to message poor Mark and break the news to him, I had to drive back to get the clothes. Mark, once again, if you read this I am sorry!

The whole debacle was well worth it as I found myself finally in Hamilton and creating with Mark’s help. This place was beautiful and I highly recommend all nature lovers to pay it a visit if they can, Dundas Valley Conservation Area is vastly stunning, full of lovely trails and waterfalls like this one!
Anyways, I still have some of this Devil fabric left what should I make with it? Let me know if any of you are interested in some pillows cause I highly doubt that I would have the patience to make anything more complicated than that out of it, for my mental health’s sake.

Till next time, what shall we create next?
